![]() In May 1990, Thomas Robert Heroy, former purchasing agent for Edison Township, entered a guilty plea to federal *550 racketeering charges. However, we modify its recommendations with respect to appropriate discipline. Based on our independent review of the record, we concur in the ACJC's determinations that respondent violated the standards of judicial conduct in both instances. The Court has received briefs and heard oral argument. The parties do not suggest that the informality of the hearing below renders the record unreliable for purposes of this Court's disciplinary determination. On February 27, 1991, this Court, on its own motion, issued an order to show cause requiring respondent to show why a public reprimand or other discipline should not be imposed based on the conduct that had been the subject of the ACJC proceedings. Following this conference, the ACJC, in a letter dated January 29, 1991, set forth its findings of fact and conclusions, namely, that the conduct of respondent violated the standards governing judicial conduct and warranted a private reprimand. These referred to respondent's attendance at a social event hosted by a person recently convicted of a crime, and the representation by respondent's law partner of the Edison Chief of Police, a former client of respondent, in a private real estate matter. On November 14, 1990, the ACJC held an informal conference with respondent and his attorney to review the allegations. On October 17, 1990, the ACJC informed respondent that the matter would be discussed by the ACJC in an informal conference. ![]() ![]() On September 10, 1990, a resident of Edison Township forwarded a letter of complaint to the Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct (ACJC) with regard to several instances of conduct by respondent, Robert Blackman, a judge of the Municipal Court of that community. Bycatch kills hundreds of thousands of birds and mammals each year. The discovery came about by accident when researchers at the Centre d'études biologiques de Chizé in France were investigating bycatch in fishing lines and nets – when fishers unintentionally snare animals they weren’t trying to catch, like albatrosses. ![]() Now researchers have found that these seabirds may have promising careers in the fight against overfishing. Their body shape means they can effortlessly glide over the ocean waves, flying in some of the strongest winds on Earth. Their 3.5m wingspan is the same length as a small car and they can weigh as much as 24 puffins. They can fly 8.5 million kilometres (5.2 million miles) during their lifetimes – the equivalent of flying to the Moon and back more than 10 times. There is going to be new deep discounts every day until July 5th, so unless you REALLY need AoW today, I'd wait. I wouldn't be surprised if Age of Wonders was a daily deal before the end of the summer sale. Right now almost all their games are 50%, and every day you see a few games at 75% or more (like Might and Magic today). That being said, the GOG sale is like Steam, every day they have deep discounts beyond 50% on certain games. I couldn't decide, but if you really can't afford both despite the low price, I'd go for Shadow Magic. The soundtrack to the first game is one of my favorite OSTs ever too. Shadow Magic is probably objectively better, but the first game is still a classic. I played it again recently (Play-by-mail) and it still held up. I have an attachment to Age of Wonders 1 because I played it long ago. I basically only played Age of Wonders 1 and Age of Wonders Shadow Magic. I know I haven't bothered with Age of Wonders 2 without Shadow Magic. ![]() ![]() ![]() You can Bind your State of Survival Account by going to Settings and then clicking on the Account option. You can stockpile a few to use on demand, which adds a welcome, if superficial layer of tension. It never regenerates, only replenished by health packs scattered around the level or thrown to you by a squadmate. Things are different in the return to 1940s Europe, but by small degrees.įor the campaign only, the health system returns to the original Call of Duty's finite life bar. To my surprise, it wraps with one of the quieter (still loud) endings I've seen in a Call of Duty game. Starting with the iconic and obligatory landing at Normandy, you shoot your way through the Western Front, liberating Paris, crossing the Rhine, and taking part in the Battle of the Bulge. You play as Daniels, a US soldier and member of the 1st Infantry Division. This is another Call of Duty campaign, replete with slow crawl concussion scenes, cornfed soldiers, and angry COs. This isn't the powerful history lesson for future generations it was first billed as. I'm not surprised Call of Duty always flubs the grandiose promises made by its marketing. It turns a global catastrophe into a melodramatic test of camaraderie, more concerned with making you feel cool than bogging anyone down with historical context. The singleplayer campaign isn't really about WWII anyway, it's about how friendship between adult men requires both great sacrifice and a great aim. ![]() |
